Short bio :
Dr Charles RAUX, a Civil Engineer, holds a PhD in Transport Economics and has been awarded an "Habilitation" to lead research (Research Professorship) from the Université Lyon 2. He is head of LET (Transport Economics Laboratory), an academic research unit based in Lyon, France.
Till now he has managed about thirty research contracts with grants from the European Commission (DG TREN) and various French national research funding programs (ANR, PREDIT). His scientific publications include about thirty papers in international refereed journals, about thirty books or book chapters and thirty international and national research reports. His main research interests today include
• new approaches in modeling land use and transport interactions by the means of agent-based models grounded in the urban economics framework,
• the use of transferable permits and more generally psycho-economic incentives as a means to manage transport demand and especially greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector,
• road user charging and other economic incentives to manage transport demand, and financing of transportation in urban areas.
